Jacolby Percy was born and raised in the Hamilton Park neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. In the late 90's Jacolby moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue a career in music producing and video production. While in Georgia he began writing scripts and shooting small two-minute short films on a home video camera. After returning to Dallas in '07 he eventually decided to enroll in the new motion picture program at KD College in late '09. His thesis film A Higher Power was in ten film festivals and gained him two audience choice awards and was nominated for Best Texas Film. His sophomore award winning film Ritechus Cry tackled the taboo subject of mental illness and suicide in the inner city. He continues to create and inspire through the art of filmmaking. Jacolby is currently working on developing his new short film Colour Me Pretty into a feature film.
